Regular dental visits at McGue Dental Care will help prevent dental disease combined with good brushing and flossing habits along with a balanced diet. Dr. McGue will evaluate the current health of your mouth and inform you of the best preventative care plan for you.
Your dental cleaning (dental prophylaxis) is performed by a Registered Dental Hygienist and will include the removal of calculus (tartar), removal of plaque and teeth polishing. The comprehensive dental examination is performed by your dentist at the initial visit and includes examination of diagnostic x-rays, oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation, examination of tooth decay, and examination of existing restorations.
McGue Dental Care provides a full range of oral surgical services, including dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting and extractions.
Wisdom Teeth Removal: For many people, the best treatment for wisdom teeth is to remove them. This treatment helps prevent future dental problems and maintain a healthy mouth and smile.
Your last molars, called the third molars or wisdom teeth, typically begin to come in during the late teens or early twenties. When they don’t have room to grow in properly, they are considered impacted. This can cause serious problems.
Dental Implants: Dental implants have several benefits. Like the roots of natural teeth, it stimulates the jawbone when you chew. This preserves the jawbone and keeps it healthy. An implant is strong, comfortable, and secure. When the restoration is in place, the implant looks and feels much like natural teeth.
Bone Grafting: When you have lost bone from your jaw, we can often restore it by performing a surgical procedure called bone grafting. Bone grafting techniques and technology enable us to restore the health and strength of the bone that supports your teeth.
Though your body cannot normally grow new bone on its own, with bone grafting, we can help your body replace lost or missing bone, fill in pockets of bone loss, and stimulate new bone and soft tissue growth.
Extractions: Generally at McGue Dental Care we recommend treatments that will save teeth, but when a tooth is so damaged that it cannot be saved, extraction is the best choice. If this is necessary, Dr. McGue is committed to providing you the most comfortable, pain-free procedure possible.
No matter your periodontal condition, you can rest assured the McGue Dental Care has you well covered.
Root Planing & Scaling: The goal of scaling and root planing is to eliminate the source of periodontal infection. When you have active periodontal disease, routine cleanings are not enough because they generally focus on the areas of the tooth that are above the gumline.
A scaling and root planning procedure, removes plaque, tartar, and bacterial toxins from the tooth surfaces below the gumline.
Gum Disease Laser Treatment: Use of laser therapy for periodontal disease is parallel with root planing. Using lasers sometimes produces less bleeding, swelling and discomfort to the patient during treatment.
Periodontal Maintenance: Periodontal disease cannot be cured; it can only be controlled. That is why we need to examine the health of your gums as determined by Dr. McGue. This typically is every three months.
If periodontal disease in not closely monitored and controlled, the disease can quickly worsen, destroy bone and soft tissue, and eventually cause you to lose teeth.
Surgical Treatment: Gingivectomy, sometimes called gum reduction surgery, is a safe and predictable procedure for removing excess gum tissue from the front surface of the teeth. With a gingivectomy, we can return your gums to a more healthy and attractive condition.
Including bridges, crowns, bonding, veneers, lumineers, and more, McGue Dental Care provides a full range of cosmetic dentistry services to help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.
Bonding: With bonding, we can close spaces between teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained or dark teeth. We can shape and color a single tooth or improve your entire smile.
Bridges: When teeth are missing, a fixed bridge can be a good choice for replacing them. A dental bridge is a great way to maintain a stable bite and restore your beautiful smile. It can also prevent a chain reaction of problems.
Crowns: Recent breakthroughs in adhesives, combined with the development of stronger porcelain materials, allow us to make crowns entirely out of porcelain. All porcelain crowns maintain a translucency that makes them hard to tell from natural teeth. Without metal, the problem of a dark line at the edge of the gums is eliminated. This allows us to place the edge of the crown above the gum line, and that’s healthier for your tooth and gums.
Also, thanks to modern digital technology at McGue Dental Care, we can provide many crowns in just one office visit.

Some children are lucky to have naturally straight teeth. Others aren’t so lucky. Thankfully, McGue Dental Care provides top-notch orthodontic care.
Braces: Braces are applied for both practical and cosmetic reasons. Many treatment options are now available that allow treatment at almost any age. Orthodontics is often thought of as a teenage rite of passage, but, regardless of age, patients with crooked or crowded teeth or with overbite or underbite conditions, can benefit greatly from treatment.
Invisible or Clear Braces: Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. Plus, brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
Orthopedic Early Treatment: Orthodontic treatment is best when the mouth is still developing and teeth are more easily straightened. Early treatment can prevent more extensive and costly treatment later, when your child matures.
